Arsenal have announced that Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new contract with the Premier League leaders. Martinelli's new contract will run until 2027, with the club having the option to extend the contract for a further 12 months. Martinelli, who represented Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, made 36 first-team appearances last season and was named our Player of the Month in December 2021 and January 2022.

The young forward's good form has continued this season, an ever-present in our Premier League starting line-up in the first 19 games of the campaign and has made 27 appearances in all competitions so far, netting seven times in the process. "We are delighted that Gabi has signed a new long-term contract," Gunners boss Mikel Arteta told the club's official website.

"Our supporters see his quality and energy every time he pulls on the shirt and it's the same every day in training with his hard work and positive values. Gabi is still very young so we know there's a lot more to come from him, and it's great that we will be together on this journey," he added.

Martinelli can now help Arsenal win their first Premier League title in over two decades and become a legend among the club's fans. Martinelli joined Arsenal from Ituana in 2019 for £6m after playing in the lower levels of Brazilian football. He then went on to make 111 appearances in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and winning the 2020 FA Cup.
